Purple Royal Tetra (Inpaichthys kerri)

The Purple Royal Tetra is a beautifully colored Tetra that does best in soft acidic water. They only get about 2 inches and are best kept in larger schools in order to keep them feeling safe and males will display their best colors.

These tetras do great with dwarf shrimp in my experience, as we kept them with blue neocaridina for a few months with plenty of shrimp fry! The Inpaichthys genus is monotypic (only one species), so don’t confuse these guys with the Emperor Tetra from the Nematobrycon genus.
