Visiting the Store
Where is your gallery located?
Our gallery is located at 16 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT 06776.
Do I need to buy something to just look around?
No purchase is necessary to visit. We do require a prepaid appointment to browse the store. Appointments are $15 per person, with each additional person in your group costing $7. You can book an appointment on our contact page.
Do you test water?
Yes. In fact, we require a water sample from your tank before selling you livestock in store. This ensures your parameters are suitable for the animal and is required to be eligible for our in-store 48-hour guarantee.
Can I get a consultation?
Absolutely. Cameron is a marine biologist with 25+ years of experience and offers expert consultations. Book a time directly on our contact page.
Products & Availability
Do you sell other things besides what is on your website?
Yes. Our website only reflects what we currently have in stock, but we are able to source a much wider range of fish and supplies. If you are looking for something specific, submit a special request and we will do our best to attain it for you within 3–10 business days.
Why don’t you carry more products on your website?
We are selective about what we stock. We only carry products we can personally back and recommend to our clients. If it’s on our shelves, it’s because we believe in it — not just because it sells.
Do you sell Red Sea brand products?
No. As an Iranian-American owned business, we do not stock or sell any Red Sea brand products as part of our participation in the international boycott movement. We are happy to recommend comparable alternatives. Read our full stance here.
Livestock & Quarantine
What is the difference between quarantined and non-quarantined livestock?
Quarantined livestock goes through our rigorous in-house quarantine process before it ever reaches our display tanks. Every animal — from fish to invertebrates — is held and observed to ensure it is free of internal and external parasites and worms. This livestock comes at a premium price and is backed by our extended guarantees. If you want the peace of mind that your animal is healthy before it enters your tank, quarantined is the way to go.
Non-quarantined livestock comes straight from our wholesale suppliers and is offered at budget-friendly prices comparable to big box pet stores. These animals have not gone through our quarantine process and do not come with any guarantee. This option is great for experienced hobbyists who are comfortable with their own quarantine setup.
What animals do you sell?
We carry a wide range of aquatic and amphibious life, including:
- Marine & saltwater fish
- Corals and reef livestock
- Freshwater fish
- Amphibians — frogs, salamanders, and newts
- Invertebrates
Shipping & Live Arrival
How do you ship live animals?
We ship via two methods:
- UPS Overnight Express — the only method covered by our live arrival guarantee.
- USPS Budget Shipping (2–5 business days) — a lower-cost option with no live arrival guarantee.
Is there a live arrival guarantee?
Yes — on UPS Overnight shipments only. If your animal arrives dead, we offer a 100% money-back guarantee, provided you contact us within 60 minutes of confirmed delivery with a video of the unopened bag being opened and the animal placed on a white paper towel.
Do you ship in all temperatures?
No. We do not ship when temperatures are below 45°F or above 82°F, or during large temperature fluctuations within a 24-hour window. Cool water species may be shipped at any temperature below 75°F. If a weather hold is placed on your order, we will notify you at no extra charge.
Is there a charge for heat or cold packs?
Yes — there is an additional $6.00 charge when a heat or cold pack is required for your shipment.
What if my shipment is delayed by UPS?
If UPS delays or damages your shipment, we will file a carrier claim on your behalf. Refunds in these cases can take up to 3 weeks while the carrier investigates. We will keep you updated throughout the process.
Guarantees & Returns
What is your in-store livestock guarantee?
In-store customers receive a 48-hour guarantee on livestock, provided a water sample from your tank was tested by us before purchase. No water sample, no guarantee.
What do Premium and Service customers get?
Customers on our Premium or Service plans receive a 2-month guarantee on all quarantined livestock. Contact us to learn more about these plans.
Can I return dry goods?
Yes — dry goods may be returned unopened, in original packaging, within 7 days of purchase. Opened items cannot be returned. If you receive a defective product, we will assist you in getting a replacement through the manufacturer.
Can my order be canceled, and how am I refunded?
Yes. We reserve the right to cancel any order, in whole or in part, for any reason — including pricing errors, suspected fraud, livestock availability, or an order shipping to a state where the species is illegal to keep (for example, axolotls in Maine). If we cancel your order, you are refunded 100% to your original form of payment. This is separate from our Live Arrival Guarantee. It is the customer's responsibility to know their state and local laws for the species they buy. If you cancel the order yourself, it's refunded as store credit minus a 5% restocking fee (not to your original payment).
What voids my live arrival guarantee?
The following situations are not covered:
- Shipping method other than UPS Overnight
- DOA claim submitted more than 60 minutes after delivery
- No video evidence provided
- Animal arrived alive but declined after delivery due to water conditions or improper acclimation
- Missed or refused delivery
- In-store purchase without a prior water sample test
