Anostomus Taeniatus
True headstanders swim permanently tilted nose-down at somewhere between 30 and 60 degrees, and it's not a swim bladder problem or a bad day — that angle matches exactly how the fish forages, picking algae and biofilm off the undersides of submerged wood and leaf litter in its natural posture. A striped body breaks up the outline nicely for a fish that spends so much time hovering at an angle other fish would consider upside down.
Care level: Moderate · Temperament: Peaceful, shoaling · Max size: ~7" · Min tank: 55 gal · Diet: Omnivore, algae + flake/pellet
