Blood parrots are a hybrid, most commonly a cross involving a Midas or Red Devil cichlid, and the trademark beak-like mouth is actually a fusion of jaw plates that never developed a normal cichlid bite — which is why they're clumsy eaters and do better with smaller, softer foods. This batch is small/medium, colors still developing, with the round body and big personality already on full display.
