Bariene Tang (Acanthurus bariene)

The Bariene Tang is an uncommon find in the trade — a deep-slope surgeonfish with a subtly patterned, almost brushed-steel face and a dark spot marking the base of its dorsal fin that gives the species its common name. It's a calmer tankmate than most large Acanthurus, though it still carries the same folding tail scalpel every surgeonfish keeps in reserve.
