Black Mystery Snail (Pomacea diffusa)

Pomacea diffusa breathes with both a gill and a lung, and you'll see the trick in action whenever one cruises to the surface, extends a long siphon, and takes a breath before diving back down. The black color form is about as classic as mystery snails get — big, glossy, and one of the most reliable cleanup crew members in the freshwater hobby.
