Black & White Heniochus (Heniochus acuminatus)
Heniochus acuminatus gets mistaken for a Moorish Idol constantly, right down to the trailing banner-like dorsal fin, despite the two fish belonging to entirely different families that just happened to land on the same look through convergent evolution. Juveniles occasionally moonlight as cleaner fish, picking parasites off other species before growing out of the habit as adults. Hardy for a butterflyfish and one of the more adaptable choices for a reef-adjacent tank.
Care level: Moderate · Temperament: Peaceful · Max size: ~9" · Min tank: 90 gal · Diet: Omnivore, meaty foods + algae
