Buenos Aires Tetra (Hyphessobrycon anisitsi)
Hyphessobrycon anisitsi comes from the coolest range of any common aquarium tetra, comfortable well below typical tropical temperatures, which makes it one of the few schooling fish that can pair with unheated or subtropical setups. That hardiness comes with a catch: it's a determined plant grazer, so soft-leaved aquatic plants are fair game if the school gets hungry. Best kept as a dedicated species group rather than mixed into a delicate planted tank.
Care level: Easy · Temperament: Semi-aggressive, shoaling · Max size: ~3" · Min tank: 30 gal · Diet: Omnivore, flake/pellet + algae
