Caribbean Sharpnose Puffer (Canthigaster rostrata)
At a max size of around four inches, the Caribbean Sharpnose is the runt of the puffer world we carry, but it makes up for size with a stare — like most puffers, its eyes move independently of each other, so it can track you and scan for food at the same time. That sharp, pointed snout is built for picking algae and tiny invertebrates out of tight reef crevices rather than crushing shells outright. Curious, personable, and one of the few puffers calm enough to consider for a reef-adjacent setup.
Care level: Moderate · Temperament: Semi-aggressive · Max size: ~4" · Min tank: 30 gal · Diet: Carnivore, meaty foods + shell-on foods for teeth
