Corydoras Agassizi
Agassizi's cory has an elongated, slightly upturned snout compared to its stockier cousins, an adaptation for probing deeper into leaf litter and root tangles where competition for food is lower. Like every Corydoras, it locks its pectoral and dorsal spines rigid when threatened — a defense so effective that predators have been documented choking on corys that wedge themselves sideways in the throat.
