Corydoras Punctatus
Punctatus translates roughly to 'dotted,' and this cory wears fine, scattered speckling over an olive-bronze body that shifts slightly with the light. Like the rest of the genus, its bony head plates and interlocking body scutes function as a kind of segmented armor, which is a big part of why Corydoras have such an outsized survival record compared to soft-skinned catfish sharing the same waters.
