Frilly Arrow Decorator Crab

Decorator crabs cover their shells in hooked, Velcro-like setae built specifically to snag bits of algae, sponge, and debris — a live camouflage suit assembled piece by piece rather than grown in. The frilly variety leans especially hard into texture, dragging in leafier, more fringed material than the average decorator, so two specimens rarely end up looking alike.
