Gold Barb (Barbodes semifasciolatus)

Barbodes semifasciolatus's gold line is a captive color selection off the wild-type green barb, bred out for a solid golden-yellow tone instead of the muted olive-green base color. It runs noticeably calmer than several of its more famous cousins, tiger barbs especially, without giving up any of the family's characteristic hardiness. A genuinely solid beginner schooler that tolerates a wide range of water conditions without complaint.
