Gold Gourami (Trichopodus trichopterus)
Another stable color line bred from Trichopodus trichopterus, the same three-spot gourami sold as the blue and opaline varieties, just selected for a solid golden-yellow body instead of the wild-type pattern. Same labyrinth-organ biology underneath, letting it gulp surface air and tolerate water conditions a gill-only fish would struggle with. A hardy, curious centerpiece that holds up well even in a less experienced hand.
Care level: Easy · Temperament: Semi-aggressive with own kind, generally peaceful · Max size: ~6" · Min tank: 30 gal · Diet: Omnivore, flake/pellet + frozen
