Gold Neon Tetra (Paracheirodon innesi)
A xanthic color form of the classic neon tetra, where reduced dark pigment lets the underlying structural iridescence read as warm gold instead of the usual blue-red split. It's a genuine genetic variant maintained through selective breeding, not a dye job, and the fish behaves exactly like a standard neon in every other respect. Shoal it in numbers and the gold catches light differently than a mixed group would, worth keeping as its own school if you want the effect to read clearly.
Care level: Easy · Temperament: Peaceful, shoaling · Max size: ~1.5" · Min tank: 15 gal · Diet: Omnivore, flake/micro-pellet
