Green Nassarius Snail
Nassarius snails track food by scent, not sight, using a siphon sensitive enough to pick up dissolved amino acids in the water from across the tank — drop in a piece of food and watch a dozen of these erupt out of the sand almost simultaneously, all converging on the same spot within seconds. Between meals they stay buried, quietly working through detritus the rest of the cleanup crew never reaches.
Care level: Easy · Temperament: Peaceful · Max size: ~1" · Min tank: 10 gal · Reef safe: Yes · Diet: Scavenger, detritus/meaty foods
