Guinea Fowl Puffer (Arothron meleagris)
Guinea Fowl Puffers get their name from the polka-dot plumage of the African bird they resemble, though color can run from near-black with white spots to a golden morph depending on the individual. Like every puffer, its teeth are fused into a permanently growing beak, which is exactly why shell-on foods aren't optional — without something to grind against, that beak just keeps growing. Inflating is a last resort, not a party trick; it costs the fish real energy and stress, so a startled Guinea Fowl would rather swim off than blow up if given the choice.
