Half Moon Female Betta (Betta splendens)

Halfmoon genetics aren't exclusive to males, this female carries the same selectively bred 180-degree tail-spread potential, it's just rarely on display since female bettas don't flare nearly as often or as dramatically as males do. Catch her flaring at a rival in a sorority, or even at her own reflection, and the same straight-edged semicircle shows up in miniature. Housing still needs enough room and hiding spots for the pecking order to settle without anyone getting cornered.
