Harlequin Tuskfish (Choerodon fasciatus)
Harlequin Tuskfish get their name from a set of oversized, forward-jutting teeth that look more like something you'd find on a mammal than a reef fish — leftover hardware built for prying and crushing shelled invertebrates off rock and coral rubble. Underneath the dentistry is one of the most vividly colored wrasses in the trade, turquoise-blue barring over an orange body that looks almost hand-painted. Hardy, bold, and one of our most requested show fish for a big FOWLR or fish-forward reef.
