Hornwort

Hornwort (Ceratophyllum demersum) is a rootless, fast-growing stem covered in bristly, forked needle-leaves that can be anchored in substrate or simply left to drift. It's a champion nutrient sponge and oxygenator, famous for outcompeting algae while providing dense cover for fry and shrimp. It may shed needles when adjusting to a new tank, but quickly rebounds with vigorous growth.
