Lavender Gourami (Trichopodus trichopterus)
A soft, muted-purple color form built on the same gourami body plan and labyrinth-organ biology as the more common blue and gold lines, just carrying a considerably less saturated tone than the brighter show varieties. That understated color makes it a genuinely good fit for a planted tank aiming for a natural look rather than a neon showpiece. Peaceful and easy, with the same surface-gulping backup breathing system as any gourami.
Care level: Easy · Temperament: Peaceful · Max size: ~4" · Min tank: 20 gal · Diet: Omnivore, flake/pellet + frozen
