Male Rosy Barb (Pethia conchonius)
A mature male Pethia conchonius showing the species' signature deep rose-pink breeding flush, a genuine condition-linked color shift rather than a fixed pattern, over a hardy, cold-tolerant body that handles a wider temperature swing than most tropical barbs. It's calmer than several of its more nip-prone relatives and does well in a mixed community. A reliable, easy schooling fish that colors up nicely with good care.
Care level: Easy · Temperament: Peaceful, shoaling · Max size: ~4" · Min tank: 20 gal · Diet: Omnivore, flake/pellet
