Miniatus Grouper (Cephalopholis miniata)
The Miniatus Grouper is arguably the best-looking predator on this page — a deep orange-red body scattered with electric blue spots that look almost airbrushed on. It's the same suction-feeding, ambush-hunting family as every other grouper here, patient enough to sit motionless near a cave entrance for the perfect strike distance. Handsome now at juvenile size, but this is a big-tank commitment down the road.
Care level: Easy · Temperament: Predatory · Max size: ~24"+ · Min tank: 180+ gal (adult) · Diet: Carnivore, live/frozen meaty foods
