Naokoae's Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus naokoae)
Named for the wife of the ichthyologist who first collected it, Cirrhilabrus naokoae is one of dozens of Cirrhilabrus species described in just the last few decades — fairy wrasses as a genus are still being actively cataloged, with new color forms and species turning up on deep reef surveys on a regular basis. Fine detailing across the fins sets this one apart from its relatives.
