Purple Tang (Zebrasoma xanthurum)

Zebrasoma xanthurum is about as saturated as reef fish coloring gets — a deep, solid violet-purple body finished with a bright yellow-orange tail, native to the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf. It holds that color better under strong lighting than almost any other tang in the store, and it's tough enough to handle the water quality swings a lot of reefs go through early on.
