Red GLO Zebra Danio (Danio rerio)

Red was one of the first colors developed when Danio rerio became the original GloFish species, the fluorescent gene originally meant for pollution-biosensor work before the modification went commercial in the early 2000s. Zebra danios are also a cornerstone research animal in genetics and developmental biology, so this fish carries a real scientific pedigree underneath the aquarium-shop glow. Fast, hardy, and easy, exactly like the wild-type fish.
