Redtail Gold Tinfoil Barb (Barbonymus schwanenfeldii)
Barbonymus schwanenfeldii is a barb in name only by the time it's grown, a big-river cyprinid that clears well over a foot in adulthood and needs a genuinely large tank most hobbyists don't have on day one. This gold line carries the species' large, reflective scales with a bold red tail as the main accent color. Worth planning the tank size around the adult, not the small juvenile currently in the bag, this is a common outgrowing mistake with tinfoils specifically.
Care level: Easy · Temperament: Peaceful, shoaling · Max size: ~14" · Min tank: 125+ gal (adult) · Diet: Omnivore, flake/pellet + veggies
