Seachem Discus Buffer is specifically formulated to replicate the soft, slightly acidic water conditions of the Amazon Basin — the natural habitat of wild Discus and other soft-water species. It lowers and stabilizes pH to the 6.0–6.8 range while simultaneously softening water hardness, eliminating the common problem of unstable pH in soft-water tanks. Unlike pH Down products that use phosphoric acid, Discus Buffer uses a safe, fish-friendly formulation that does not stress fish with large pH swings. Ideal for Discus, Altum Angelfish, Cardinal Tetras, Apistogramma cichlids, and other soft-water Amazonian species.
