Two Spot Goby
Two Spot Gobies are named for the pair of dark eyespots along their flanks — a decoy pattern that draws a predator's strike toward the tail instead of the head, which is a much more survivable place to lose a chunk of fin. They're sand-dwellers by nature, hovering low over open substrate and darting for cover the instant something bigger swims past, and they'll happily take over an empty burrow rather than dig their own if one's available. Hardy, unfussy, and small enough to disappear into a nano tank's rockwork without ever causing trouble.
