Aquarium Services | Maintenance, Quarantine & Design
The service we actually sell is a tank you never think about. Not visits, not hours — a living system that looks right every day of the month, maintained by the marine biologist who quarantined the animals in it. Every plan below is a flat monthly price set by three things you already know: what kind of system it is, how much water it holds, and how often you want us there. No hourly rates, no surprise line items.
Aquarium maintenance plans
Three system types — planted freshwater, FOWLR (fish-only with live rock), and full reef — across four visit cadences. Every visit covers water changes, testing and logging, filtration and equipment service, glass and aquascape care, dosing, and a livestock health check. The price is the month, complete.
| Cadence | Planted | FOWLR | Reef | Live guarantee on livestock we install |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Weekly — 52 visits/yr | $255.99–$958.99 | $319.99–$1,214.99 | $383.99–$1,534.99 | 2 months |
| Every 10 days — 36 visits/yr | $177.99–$663.99 | $221.99–$840.99 | $265.99–$1,062.99 | 2 months |
| Biweekly — 26 visits/yr | $127.99–$479.99 | $159.99–$607.99 | $191.99–$767.99 | 2 months |
| Monthly — 12 visits/yr | from $59.99 | from $73.99 | from $88.99 (not recommended for reef) | 14 days |
The range inside each cell is water volume — a 10-gallon tank sits at the bottom of its column, a 300-gallon reef at the top, priced by the minutes the system actually takes. Exact tiers are on each plan's page; tanks over 300 gallons are quoted. The honest read on the cadences: biweekly and up is where we can promise the result — that's why the two-month live guarantee, the strongest in the industry, starts there. Monthly keeps a tank presentable, but thirty days is long enough for a small problem to become a big one, which is why it carries the shorter guarantee and why we don't recommend it for reef.
Travel zones. The prices above are Zone 1 — New Milford and its immediate neighbors (Bridgewater, Brookfield, Sherman, Roxbury, Washington). Farther out, the drive is real time, so it is priced like the rest of the visit — a flat per-visit premium by zone, added to the plan:
| Zone | Roughly | Per visit |
|---|---|---|
| Zone 2 — Danbury, Bethel, Newtown, New Fairfield, Kent, Southbury, Woodbury, Litchfield | 15–30 min | +$45 |
| Zone 3 — Ridgefield, Redding, Waterbury, Torrington, Watertown, Oxford, Warren | 30–50 min | +$85 |
| Zone 4 — Stamford, Greenwich, Norwalk, Westport, greater Hartford, northern Westchester NY | 50–75 min | +$125 |
Pick your zone on the plan page — the monthly price includes it. Beyond Zone 4 is quoted. Not sure which zone you are? Ask, and we will tell you straight.
Commercial spaces — lobbies, offices, restaurants, waiting rooms — run on their own schedule with certificates of insurance and off-hours access: commercial plans run $428.99–$1,278.99/month by system and cadence.
Fish quarantine service — for fish you bought anywhere
You found the fish. We'll make sure it doesn't cost you your tank. Buy from another store, an online vendor, a local hobbyist — ship it to us or drop it off, and it goes through the same quarantine program as our own quarantined-to-order livestock: treated preventively, observed daily, and released only when it's eating and boring. The Clean Release Guarantee: your fish leaves quarantine eating prepared food and symptom-free — or it stays until it is, at no extra charge. Treatment is included; finding problems is the job, not an upsell.
The fee scales with the value of the animal you're protecting — the way insurance does, declining as a percentage as value rises. Your purchase invoice sets the declared value.
| Declared value (per animal) | 4-week course |
|---|---|
| Under $100 | $128.99 |
| $100–$299 | $178.99 |
| $300–$749 | $278.99 |
| $750–$1,499 | $448.99 |
| $1,500–$2,999 | $698.99 |
| $3,000 and up | from $998.99, quoted |
Ordinary stock stages together: a trio of fish under $100 each runs $328.99, a full six-fish stocking $598.99. Corals and inverts get a pest dip plus 14-day observation at $38.99 a frag ($98.99 for three). A genuinely extended medical hold bills $38.99 a week beyond week four. Getting started
- On-site consultation — $155. Cameron comes to your home or business, assesses the system or the space, and you get a straight plan — what it needs, what it'll cost, what we'd do first.
- System Audit & Reset — $494.99. The onboarding deep-clean and diagnostic that starts most maintenance relationships: full parameter workup, equipment service, aquascape reset, and a written baseline log.
- Showroom appointment. See the animals and the systems in person at 16 Bridge Street, New Milford — weekends by appointment, the room and the biologist to yourself.
- Private aquariums. Design, installation, and stocking for homes and businesses — reef and planted systems as living installations, quoted per project.
The guarantees, plainly
Maintenance clients on any plan with at least two visits a month get a 2-month live guarantee on livestock our team installs — nobody in the industry matches it. Monthly plans carry a 14-day live guarantee. Quarantine service carries the Clean Release Guarantee above. And every livestock order over $350 now ships free.
