Bicolor Foxface (Siganus uspi)
Like most rabbitfish, the Bicolor Foxface pair-bonds for life in the wild, and a mated pair will patrol the same stretch of reef together for years, grazing algae as a unit. It can also shift color dramatically overnight, fading to a mottled, duller pattern while it sleeps — a form of camouflage that has nothing to do with mood and everything to do with not looking like dinner while unconscious. Backed by venomous spines the moment it feels cornered, though it would much rather just graze.
Care level: Easy · Temperament: Peaceful · Max size: ~9" · Min tank: 90 gal · Diet: Herbivore, algae + herbivore pellets
