Blacktail Hemiodus

Hemiodus solved the "algae scraper" problem with an unusual jaw arrangement: grinding teeth restricted to the upper jaw only, with the lower jaw left essentially toothless, an asymmetric setup that most fish families don't bother with. Fast and streamlined for open-water schooling, its black-tipped tail gives an easy visual anchor for a fish that's constantly on the move.
