Ribbon Eel
The Ribbon Eel spends its whole life rewriting its own color scheme and sex: it hatches jet black, turns electric blue as a sub-adult male, then finishes life bright yellow as a female — one continuous, slow-motion transformation most keepers never see complete. It hunts by scent more than sight, threading those flared, ribbon-like nostrils through the sand to track prey, and it is notoriously reluctant to eat anything that isn't alive and moving. This is a species for patient, experienced keepers only; a secure lid is non-negotiable.
