Come nightfall, or the first sign of trouble, the Tamarin Wrasse does what most sand-diving wrasses do: it dives straight into the substrate and disappears, using loose sand as both a bed and a bunker. Between dives it's an active, fast-swimming forager covered in fine blue spotting, hunting small invertebrates across open reef flats.
Care level: Easy · Temperament: Semi-aggressive · Max size: ~5" · Min tank: 55 gal, sand bed required · Diet: Carnivore, meaty foods
