Boesemani Rainbowfish (Melanotaenia boesemani) (Pair)
Melanotaenia boesemani comes from just two lakes in West Papua's Ayamaru system, an extremely narrow native range for a species this popular in the trade, and the two-tone split, orange up front fading to blue-purple toward the tail, only fully develops as the fish matures into adulthood. Sold here as a pair to get a breeding-condition duo started rather than a lone juvenile still working toward full color. Peaceful and active, best appreciated in a real school where that split coloration reads across the whole group.
Care level: Easy · Temperament: Peaceful, shoaling · Max size: ~4" · Min tank: 30 gal · Diet: Omnivore, flake/pellet
