Clown Killifish (Epiplatys annulatus)

Epiplatys annulatus comes from West African forest streams, and unlike the annual killifish species that lay drought-resistant eggs to survive a dry season, this one lives in permanent water and skips that whole adaptation, one of the more approachable killies for exactly that reason. It spends most of its time near the surface, striped body angled slightly upward the way a lot of top-dwelling killifish sit in the water column. Small, peaceful, and best kept in a group in a densely planted tank once it's settled in.
