Creole Wrasse (Clepticus parrae)
Creole Wrasses spend their days schooling by the hundreds in open water over Caribbean reef drop-offs, picking zooplankton out of the current — a lifestyle that looks more like a school of anthias than the sand-diving, rock-hopping habits most wrasses default to. Color shifts from deep violet-blue to reddish depending on mood and lighting, giving the school a shimmering, ever-changing look. An easygoing, active addition to a fish-forward reef that wants company of its own kind.
Care level: Easy · Temperament: Peaceful, shoaling · Max size: ~10" · Min tank: 75 gal · Diet: Carnivore, meaty foods
