Crowntail Dragonscale Betta (Betta splendens)

Dragonscale is a newer mutation than crowntail, thickening the guanine layer under each scale until the whole fish looks armor-plated and metallic under aquarium light. Stack that on top of crowntail finnage and you get a fish that reads more like a small dragon than a rice-paddy native, which is exactly the point of the name. Keep him alone, the attitude scales right up with the armor.
