Exquisite Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus exquisitus)

Fairy wrasses are sequential hermaphrodites running a harem system much like anthias — every fish starts out female, and the dominant individual in a group converts to male, developing brighter, more saturated color in the process. The Exquisite backs up its name with a wash of purple, pink, and yellow that intensifies right along with that transition.
