Hybrid Redtail Cat/Tiger Shovelnose
This hybrid catfish doesn't exist anywhere in the wild — it's a deliberate aquaculture cross, combining the vivid coloring of the redtail catfish with the flattened, elongated snout of the tiger shovelnose to produce a fish with a look neither parent species has on its own. That shovel-shaped snout is a sensory tool as much as a hunting one, densely packed with pores that help detect prey and obstacles by feel in murky water.
