MBU Puffer (Tetraodon mbu)
Puffers as a family carry an unusually large brain-to-body ratio for fish, and MBU puffers are large enough that the difference is easy to notice in behavior — many keepers report individual puffers learning to recognize the person who feeds them, distinct from the generic startle-and-forget responses typical of most fish. At full adult size this is one of the biggest personalities, literally and figuratively, in the freshwater hobby. A serious commitment fish we discuss carefully with New Milford customers before they take one home.
