Neon Green Leather Toadstool Coral (Sarcophyton sp.)
Unlike toadstools where only the polyps carry color, this one's cap itself runs a uniform neon green, giving it a more solid, saturated look even when the polyps are retracted. It builds the same stalk-and-broad-cap structure typical of Sarcophyton, using that wide disc surface to maximize light capture, and sheds its outer tissue layer periodically to clear off algae buildup, a normal process that looks worse than it is. Easy enough to hand to a first-time soft coral keeper without much risk.
Care level: Easy · Light/Flow/Placement: Moderate light, moderate flow, bottom-to-mid tank · Max size: 8-12" cap diameter · Diet: Photosynthetic, no target feeding required
