Opaline Gourami (Trichopodus trichopterus)
The marbled blue-and-black pattern here is another stable color form of Trichopodus trichopterus, the same three-spot gourami species behind the blue and gold lines, just with a mottled rather than solid finish. That marbling makes every individual fish's pattern slightly different, more variation than the flat-colored lines offer. Same labyrinth-organ air-breathing and same calm, curious temperament as the rest of the species.
Care level: Easy · Temperament: Semi-aggressive with own kind, generally peaceful · Max size: ~5" · Min tank: 30 gal · Diet: Omnivore, flake/pellet + frozen
