S.A. Bumble Bee Catfish (Microglanis sp.)

Microglanis catfish like this one pack an oversized mouth onto a stocky little body, capable of swallowing prey that looks too big to fit — a mismatch that becomes obvious the first time you watch one attempt a meal. Bold black-and-tan banding does double duty as camouflage against leaf litter and as a startle-display when flashed at a would-be predator.
