Show Male Betta (Betta splendens)
Show-grade bettas get judged the same way orchid breeders judge orchids: symmetry, edge definition, and a color saturation that doesn't fade under the light. This one's a keeper's keeper, bred over generations purely for that competition-ring finnage, and it pays off the second the fins unfurl into a full flare. Solo housing isn't a suggestion here, it's biology: two males in the same water column ends in torn fins and a very short flare-off.
Care level: Easy · Temperament: Aggressive toward other bettas · Max size: ~3" · Min tank: 5 gal · Diet: Carnivore, betta pellets + frozen
