Torch Coral (Euphyllia sp.)
Torch Coral is named for the long, flowing tentacles tipped in a slight bulb that genuinely do sway like a torch's flame under even mild flow, making it one of the more hypnotic, motion-heavy corals in the large polyp stony family. It's a forgiving coral for someone stepping up from softies and zoanthids, tolerant of a real range of light and flow, though like its Euphyllia relatives it carries a genuine sting and will reach out and damage anything that grows too close. Give it a few inches of clearance in every direction and stable core parameters, and it'll reward you with some of the best motion in the tank.
