Tropic Marin Elimi-NP is a concentrated liquid carbon source for stimulating heterotrophic bacterial growth in reef aquariums as a method of biologically reducing nitrate and phosphate. The concept is the same as vodka dosing — adding a carbon source drives bacteria to proliferate rapidly, consuming dissolved nitrate and phosphate as they grow, then getting exported via the protein skimmer.
