Yellow Pyramid Butterflyfish (Hemitaurichthys polylepis)
Pyramid Butterflyfish break the family's usual pattern entirely — instead of pairing off and patrolling a fixed patch of reef, they school by the dozens in open water over drop-offs, picking zooplankton straight out of the current alongside anthias and fusiliers. That bold yellow-and-white pyramid color block makes a school of these genuinely striking in a large display tank. Keep them in a group if you can; a lone Pyramid Butterflyfish is a fish that's missing its whole social structure.
Care level: Moderate · Temperament: Peaceful, shoaling · Max size: ~7" · Min tank: 75 gal · Diet: Omnivore, meaty foods + algae
