Yellowtail Blue Damsel (Chrysiptera parasema)
Yellowtail Blue Damsels are frequently the first fish added to a brand-new tank, and for good reason — they tolerate the rough water chemistry of a system still cycling better than almost anything else in the hobby, electric blue body and all. That resilience is basically hardwired into damsels generally, a family that includes species tough enough to survive tide pools baking in direct sun at low tide.
Care level: Easy · Temperament: Semi-aggressive, milder than most damsels · Max size: ~3" · Min tank: 30 gal · Diet: Omnivore, marine flake/pellet
